About The Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Production Planner to join our Operations team. 

This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining an efficient and effective production plan and schedule. This is a new role into the business so it is an exciting opportunity to build the production plan from scratch. It is pivotal is supporting smooth production operations and will work closely with the design, procurement, manufacturing and logistics teams.

As the Production Planner you’ll get to:

  • Work with the Operations Director to develop a process to manager the end to end supply chain and production of the Siltbuster units.
  • Develop, manage, and adjust short and long-term production schedules
  • Work closely with departments such as design, sales, inventory, and workshop to replace or synchronise existing department specific production plans, to improve process efficiency and eliminate waste
  • Monitor progress of production jobs and update schedules accordingly, identifying, and correcting bottlenecks or delays to maintain production workflow.
  • Coordinate effectively with sub- contractors and internal stakeholders to assess readiness and timely availability of BOM and products to meet production targets and delivery deadlines
  • Track production progress, analyse key performance indicators (e.g., throughput, lead times), and generate reports for management
  • Ensure health, safety, and quality standards are integrated into planning decisions and throughout the scheduling process

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience of managing a production plan in a production planning or scheduling role within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment, with and without and ERP system
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Dynamics 365).
  • Strong understanding of production planning & sub-contract manufacturing planning processes.
  • Understanding of project management principles and processes.
  • Experience in the water treatment, construction or environmental engineering sectors would be advantageous. 
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental compliance within production environments.
